Rebuilding Trust. Restoring Hope. Reinforcing Democracy.
In 1995, Deva relocated to Florida and has proudly called Polk County home since 2002. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Deva has worked in education, empowering students and families to reach their fullest potential through learning, mentorship, and community engagement for over 20 years in District 18.
Her commitment to service extends far beyond the classroom. Deva has served on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of Lakeland, is a proud sponsor of the AGB Museum of Art, and volunteers with kidsPACK, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, and Polk County Schools.
A devoted educator, mentor, and servant leader, Deva believes that strong communities are built on compassion, accountability, and collaboration. She continues to champion growth, unity, and opportunity for all.
Now, Deva is stepping up to serve on a greater level — as a candidate for U.S. Congress, District 18. Her mission is clear:
to rebuild trust in leadership, restore hope in our communities, and reinforce democracy for the people of Florida.
With faith, courage, and an unwavering heart for the people, Deva Simmons is ready to lead — and ready to serve.
